New Blackpoint ITDR capabilities deliver stronger protection against emerging identity threats designed to help businesses detect identity-based attacks earlier, respond without disrupting the business and prove exactly what happened after an incident.
In addition, Blackpoint ITDR now has a historical scan that delivers a retrospective analysis of Microsoft 365 environments to understand if attackers already have a foothold and can compromise systems.
Blackpoint Cyber, a leading cybersecurity company protecting small- to mid-sized companies and their MSP allies worldwide, has announced a broad set of new Identity Threat Detection and Response( ITDR) capabilities in CompassOne, its unified security platform.
The new capabilities include additional threat detections, automated containment controls and incident-reporting tools
“ A compromised mailbox is not an inconvenience; it’ s a confidentiality problem with our clients’ own clients attached to it. Much of what we saw when evaluating the competition, was alerts dressed up as detection, which just moves the work back to us. Blackpoint’ s SOC investigates and acts and every addition has been aimed at taking work off my team rather than handing them another dashboard to check,” said William Kapes, Director of Technical Operations at Integritek.
As attackers move from breaking in through doors and windows and into simply logging in via stolen credentials and email compromise, identities have become the new endpoint. Leveraging AI, attackers have evolved their tactics to include identity, vulnerability and social engineering to log their way into business systems.
Kaspersky unveils how the worst cyber incidents hit SMBs over the past 12 months
As small- and medium-sized businesses increasingly become a battleground for digital threat actors, understanding the true operational and financial impact of security breaches has never been more critical. A new global survey by Kaspersky draws attention to the key security gaps of companies below 500 employees and highlights critical risk areas.
According to a poll of IT and IT security professionals in the SMB sector, an overwhelming 86 % of respondents stated they had experienced at least one cyber incident in the last year. Among them, the top threats cited as the most damaging were phishing attacks, software exploits, mass malware, ransomware and attacks targeting AI vulnerabilities.
Specifically, financial loss emerged as the leading consequence of the most harmful incident, cited by 22 % of respondents. Other major impacts followed closely, each affecting nearly one-fifth of companies: theft of customer data, temporary disruption to client-facing services like websites and online stores, loss of control over IT infrastructure and general business process disruption.
The survey also highlights the irreversible nature of some of the damage: 16 % of companies reported irrecoverable data loss, while 13 % suffered irreversible damage to corporate assets. This underscores the long term risks that cyber incidents pose to SMBs.
