KnowBe4 enables organisations to have independent control over outbound email security
KnowBe4, a global leader in digital workforce security, securing both AI agents and humans, has announced the launch of two easy-to-use features, Prevent’ s DLP rule builder and misdirected content analysis, offering advanced data protection for all customers. These features are particularly valuable to small and mid-market organisations, delivering enterprise-grade security without the typical premium costs of additional licensing or expensive professional services.
Most sensitive data loss is due to simple human mistakes, not malicious intent, but traditionally, the tools to stop these errors were complex and expensive. With Prevent’ s DLP rule builder and misdirected content analysis, organisations can now secure outbound email with ease and without the high price tag.
The new features allow organisations to independently secure outbound sensitive data like Personally Identifiable Information( PII) and financial records.
“ For small and mid-market organisations, data protection often feels overwhelming; it’ s expensive, complex and requires specialised skills,” said Greg Kras, Chief Product Officer at KnowBe4.“ KnowBe4 Prevent changes that. We’ re delivering enterprise-grade protection that combines high-fidelity DLP with AI-powered misdirected content analysis. This dual-layer defence
not only gives organisations the autonomy to secure sensitive data like PII and financial records, but it also turns every nearmiss into a teachable moment that proactively corrects human behaviour, which is the root cause of most data leaks.”
The product redefines outbound email security for SMBs by offering the independent control they previously lacked.
Britain’ s‘ missing middle’ businesses are being squeezed from all sides
With Innovate UK narrowing its funding toward highgrowth businesses and the FCA reviewing whether lending rules are restricting SME finance, there’ s a growing gap between policy direction and what most UK businesses are experiencing on the ground.
Aman Parmar, Head of Marketing at BizSpace, which supports British SMEs with flexible workspace, offers insight into the growing pressure on the UK’ s‘ missing middle’ of established SMEs.
He said:“ What we’ re seeing right now is a clear mismatch between where support is being directed and what most SMEs actually need. Policy is increasingly focused on backing high-growth businesses, but the reality is that the majority are dealing with day-to-day pressures just to remain stable and grow sustainably.
“ This approach is being driven from the top down, with the government prioritising productivity and scale, and bodies targeting funding accordingly. The intention is to maximise economic return, but in practice, it concentrates support on a small group of high-growth firms, leaving much of the wider SME base with less access. Tighter conditions around finance are making it harder still for many businesses to secure the support they need, widening the gap between policy ambition and everyday reality.”
Innovate UK is increasingly focusing on sectors like AI and advanced manufacturing, with broader grant access being scaled back.
He added:“ It’ s not just about availability: it’ s the cost, the complexity and the risk. That’ s leading a lot of businesses to hold back on investment.”
