Entitled A Resilient Cybersecurity Profession Charts the Path Forward , the study predicts that the global cybersecurity workforce needs to grow by 65 % in order to meet current demands .
Furthermore , the study ’ s respondents said that these shortages caused them a variety of problems . Nearly a third – 30 % – said that because of it , they did not have the ability to properly assess or manage risk , 28 % said it led to oversights in process and procedure and 27 % said it left them unaware of active threats against the network . Those that can ’ t attract the right cybersecurity talent will find themselves at greater risk of attack or compliance penalties .
