Emirates Development Bank and Abu Dhabi Investment Office sign MoU
Emirates Development Bank ( EDB ), a key financial enabler of the UAE ’ s economic diversification and industrial transformation agenda , and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office ( ADIO ) have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) to collaborate on promoting business setup and foreign direct investments into Abu Dhabi .
The MoU between EDB and ADIO aims to help private sector companies establish and grow in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi while playing a key role in the overall economic growth of the Emirate .
EDB and ADIO will explore areas of collaboration to effectively support investments into Abu Dhabi from SMEs , start-ups and large enterprises ; facilitate ease of doing business in Abu Dhabi ; provide supply chain financing to Abu Dhabibased companies ; and assist with the scale-up of operations of Abu Dhabi-based companies .
Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi , CEO of EDB , said : “ We believe these efforts will create new opportunities , boost collaboration , expand the value chains for UAE-based entities and contribute to the country ’ s economic growth and productivity surge .”
EU Commission launches the Start-up Village Forum
The EU Commission has launched the Start-up Village Forum to gather insights on challenges for and potential of rural start-up companies .
As part of the EU ’ s June 2021 long-term vision for rural areas and the Commission Action Plan for Rural areas , the annual Startup Village Forum contributes to boosting research and innovation in rural communities and help build up a more innovative entrepreneurship that will attract more young and talented people .
The Forum aims at becoming an open space where local , regional , national and European institutions and stakeholders can meet , discuss and shape action for start-up-driven innovation in rural areas .
The Forum for rural innovation will connect rural innovation actors across the EU and enhance the development of rural innovation ecosystems . The Start-up Village Forum seeks to provide knowledge on rural innovative start-ups , the types of innovations they are involved in , the gaps in the services that they expect from innovation ecosystems and how these could be strengthened in the future .
Safe-T Group boosts iShield consumer cybersecurity product with advanced ransomware protection capabilities
Safe-T Group has announced it has completed development of an advanced ransomware protective layer for its iShield consumer and small and midsized business ( SMBs ) product .
The new embedded antiransomware feature was designed to protect consumers and SMBs from some of the most common forms of ransomware threats and attacks including social engineering , malware-infected advertising , drive-by infections and traffic distribution systems .
