UK start-up targets US $ 3.5 trillion global health food market in latest investment round
A UK start-up company specialising in the production of healthy food products which provide a long-term solution to elevated blood glucose levels has launched a new funding round as it seeks to stem the rise of Type 2 Diabetes .
Based in Norwich , The Smarter Food Company has developed a vegetable-based soup containing specialised natural ingredients including glucoraphanin , a naturally occurring compound found in broccoli , that actively regulate hepatic digestion to control glucose metabolism . As well as appealing to health-conscious consumers , the product is also being aimed at people at risk of Type 2 Diabetes with clinical data suggesting it reduces elevated blood glucose , a significant risk factor for the development of the condition . Diabetes charities report that more people than ever are at risk of contracting Type 2 with predictions the numbers could rise to 5.5 million in the UK alone by 2030 .
Infinipoint launches first Device-Identity-asa-Service solution
Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity start-up , Infinipoint , has announced the first Device- Identity-as-a-Service ( DIaaS ), its comprehensive device identity and security posture solution that is a critical part of a Zero Trust approach to secure device access .
Infinipoint also announced US $ 11 million in funding from JAL Ventures , Emerge and Hetz Ventures . Strategic investors and advisors include Ron Myers , former SVP of global channels for Palo Alto Networks , Pradeep Aswani , serial entrepreneur , US distribution and channel veteran and cybersecurity investor , Issy Ben-Shaul , serial entrepreneur , cloud technologies expert and Director of Engineering at Google and Ravi Ithal , Founder of Netskope and Founding Engineer of Palo Alto Networks .
“ Leveraging device posture to achieve real-time continuous authorisation is essential for any modern Zero Trust implementation ,” said Ben Goodman , Senior Vice President , Global Business and Corporate Development , ForgeRock . “ By leveraging the device visibility Infinipoint provides , ForgeRock ’ s Intelligent Access can dynamically adjust a user ’ s authentication experience and level of access to align with their degree of risk .”
Over half of US office workers fear speaking to their IT department
Over two-thirds of US office workers ( 60 %) said they have had a negative experience with the IT department – either feeling patronised , intimated or frustrated at the length of the time they have to wait to resolve issues .
More than a third ( 39 %) of US office workers have had to wait longer for an IT issue to be resolved while working from home , with more than half ( 56 %) having to wait at least three hours to resolve an issue .
Fifty-seven percent said they had hardware replacement issues during the pandemic , leading to 22 % of US workers insisting that poor performing or broken IT equipment caused a loss of productivity . Fortyeight percent said they would welcome round the clock phone support from an IT technician .
The results are part of the Supporting Your Remote Workforce in 2021 and Beyond report , commissioned by Velocity Smart Technology , which surveyed 2,000 office workers in the US .
