I am delighted to be bringing you this new publication , championing the successes of SMEs across EMEA , North America and APAC .

Our new magazine aims to showcase how technology solutions are helping organisations to scale and thrive , particularly in what we recognise as very challenging circumstances throughout 2020 .

There is no doubt that SMEs will play a pivotal role in the long-term economic recovery of nations and it is a privilege to be able to tell their stories of growth . One such example is that of our first cover story , which showcases how meal kit retailer Gousto is leveraging a Databricks data management and AI solution . Gousto has been able to become more customer-centric and agile in response to the pandemic ; drive operational improvements and deliver on its strategic goal of maiden profitability in 2020 .

Gousto ’ s CTO , Shaun Pearce , tells us more about the deployment and its benefits on pages 44 – 46 .

One challenge that all SMEs face is scaling their operations and this can often be difficult as they are held back by rigid business models . In our first feature this month , Niclas Sanfridsson , CEO at Colt DCS , tells us how SMEs can change tack and utilise the cloud to enhance their scalability .

Meanwhile , our Editor ’ s Question this month tackles the issue of data security . SMEs can often underestimate the risks presented to them by the vast array of cyberthreats . But they need to take cybersecurity just as seriously as their enterprise cousins .
